Hello everyone, my name is Oleksandr, big fishing fan. I live in Montreal, QC. I am a telecommunication technician, and fishing is a hobby I enjoy the most among other activities that are on my list. I have been fishing since I remember, but lately I have not had much luck with the fishing. I mostly do it with a couple of buddies of mine, sometimes with my dad, sometimes alone, depends on the situation. Have been fishing around the area of Montreal now for about 6 years, and most of the time not getting much goodies out of the water, I will be posting some pictures shortly of my past experiences and the fish I caught, maybe you will enjoy taking a peek at them Anyway, glad to be here and hope I will be resourceful now that I have a bit more time on my hands
By the way that is my, when my dad and I caught a carp in Charlemagne, QC the village where Celine Dion was born I am an immigrant myself, been in Canada only 8 year, and I would have never thought in my life, that I would be fishing around there lol

I was fishing at the Ponds in Central Point, Oregon on Friday Morning the 29th of May. I laid my pole, a 5 and 1/2' small pole with Chartreuse and Rainbow Power Bait on a Triple Hook, on my bucket with a bell to alert me there's a fish on. I went up to the next fishing hole for about 4 minutes to talked to another lady fishing. I walked back and my bucket was in the water with my bobber, which I took off and put in the bucket. The pole couldn't be seen anywhere! You hear of people losing their pole in the water, but usually it's in the river or the coast! Maybe someone has snorkeling gear to hunt for it? I've learned a lesson to never leave my pole alone!

loosing a pole is quite annoying.

I lost my brand new soft bait rod once when I came back from kayak fishing.
Just before a arrived at the beach the pole fell out of my kayak. I kinda accidentally lifted it up with my paddle.
Was super shallow water but really muddy - couldn't find anymore.

Then about two weeks later I was walking with my dog around this area and found the pole washed up by the rocks, all covered with mussels and algae It looked more like some overgrown twig.

The reel was totally screwed up and full of sand and mud, but I cleaned the pole and still using it today
And that's after being submerged for two weeks in salt water

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

Good for you! I like stories like yours! I liked my reel, as the pole I bought at a yard sale for $3.00. I bought a new reel for over $50.00 three weeks ago, but I know now I wasn't to use it. There's always a reason for everything. I won't go a-way from my pole anymore, smile!
