What are the Best Fishing Times?One of the most frequently asked questions of fishermen around the world is: Fishing Reminder not only aims to provide an answer to this question but even more importantly a practical solution. In this article I'm going to explain the theory behind the Best Fishing Times and Best Fishing Days and how Fishing Reminder calculates them.
So how does Fishing Reminder finds those times?Firstly to find the Best Fishing Times for a day, Fishing Reminder calculates the Moon Up and Moon Down Times for that day. Secondly Fishing Reminder calculates the current Moon Phase and Moon Age. And thirdly it calculates Sunrise and Sunset times.
Major Times = Moon Up and Moon Down Times
Peak Days are those days when Sun and Moon are closest to earth.
Other day ratings are taken from the Maori Fishing Calendar which has a specific rating for each day in a moon cycle.
What about Weather?Another important factor in determining the bite behaviour is the Local Weather.

- Thanks for the comment. I agree, that a plastic, or real crawfish rigged weedless, dragged slowly through the bed can be a great way to get the attention of the tending mama bass. She will surely pick up the bait with intentions to relocate. Setting the hook is all "angler" skill here for sure. ROLL TIDE!
- RE bamasnap, countryboy91 - the spawn can be a great time to tie into some really good sized bass! Crawfish are natural predators of bass roe. Use a salty craw or other soft plastic crawfish rigged weedless and slowly walk it across the bottom, pausing often. When it gets close to a bed or even on a bed, the bass will pick it up and relocate it away from their fry! Set the hook and have a blast. I do recommend CPR (catch, photo, release) at this time of the year to make sure a real crawfish doesn't clean out an unprotected bed!
- The bass are more than likely on the bed. The large bass are females, and they won't bite anything while they are tending the bed, and hatching minnows.

- Most accurate and reliable site to date. I've tried about 4 to 5 good ones now and this has been the most accurate, times vary 30 minutes to an hour depending on your exact location but major and minor bite times have been accurate 90% of the time! Job well done...

- I would try a river2sea whopper plopper 130 size in any color that matches the baitfish in the pond as closely as possible because it is made for bass hope this helps.
- Hi - location cannot be removed at the moment.
But if you select new locations they will be added to the top of your list and older locations on the bottom will drop - this way you can reorganize your favorites. - I want to remove a location from my places and cannot work out how to do that. Please help

Atif - I had fished for many years and the best thing i found that works well on large mouths that just are stubborn is a live chub about 4 inches long if that doesn't work then you might want to to try a black spinner bait i prefer the one made by blue fox spinners. i hope this helps you
- hey everyone i have a big pond jus about a lake and its slam full of largmouth bass i can look right down and see the big monster bass everywhere and i have tryed jus abouth every kind of bait and they wont hit anything not even live abit what els can i try

They have been very accurate so far. - Thacks too fishingreminder i caught a 3 pound crappie a personal best. TN has great fishing.
- My friends and I like to go fishing along the kaalstrand between Langebaan and the iron ore harbour. Last week we caught cob, blacktail and stompnose. We caught 7 cob between 3 -5 kg and the blacktail ; 0.75kg.
This fishing spot is in South Africa , Western Cape, along the West Coast.
