Susanville, California sits at the doorstep of some of Northern California’s most productive freshwater fisheries, with Eagle Lake, Lake Almanor, the Susan River, and nearby mountain streams all within easy striking distance. The region offers a mix of trophy trout water, multi-species lakes, and smaller creeks, giving anglers strong options in every season.

Seasonal patterns drive success around Susanville. In spring, snowmelt cools lakes and swells rivers, pushing trout shallow on Eagle Lake, Almanor, and in the Susan River.
