Actually John. we havent caught any Kings recently either. This pic is more than a month old. The weather is too cold. Wait for sometime and you will be hooked ;-)

HI lance .. do you put a whole Ballyhoo fish or macarek or cut it into peices and hook it ?
Do you use weights for casting or do u just put hook the fish and cast ?
live or dead fish as bait ?

Hi Meril,
Doesnt matter if you put half or whole. But do hookin large pieces. As they say bigger the bait., bigger the fish.
If you ask me about weights it depends. If from shore ofcourse u need a weight to cast far and that your bait doesnt roll around with the waves. If on boat nope not needed.
Live is always preferred as is the nature of pelagic fish to attack live fish. But dead works too
