A single grouper lies on its side on rough, pale grey rock, photographed from above in bright daylight. The fish is mottled brown to olive-grey with dense small reddish-brown spots covering the head and flanks, and it shows a broad rounded tail and a large head with a pale eye. No angler or rod is visible in the frame, only the rock surface of what appears to be a breakwater. The fish is a Gulf hamour, taken during a shore session off the Marina Mall breakwater in Abu Dhabi.
