Fishing's been pretty slow the last few days. Only thing I've had is this Mud Cod that hit the lure as soon as it hit the water.

I have never heard of a mud cod...I take it you are in the tropics? ... What a great looking fish. Clearly an ambush predator with that big flat paddle tail and over sized head and jaw structure.

Yes I'm up in Far North Queensland around Cairns. They are a lovely looking little thing.
