Beauty LARGE mouth ! I've only caught one up here, (usually only smallmouth) a good fight.... and I was amazed at the gaping mouth! Way to go ! Great catch. Do you have to worry about worms down there ?

I actually caught this on cut bait! I was fishing for gar and caught this beauty of a fish. It's the only bass I've caught at this location. I often fish with night crawlers. With the summer being so hot, it is hard to find good worms.

I use worms here mostly. I keep them in the fridge, and on ice when I'm out fishing. I've not lost a batch yet. I should have worded my question about worms differently. I meant to ask do the bass down there get worms in their flesh. .... Do you eat them or "catch and release" ? It looks like a mossy, shallow river behind you.
