I'm Charles from Winston Salem, NC. I primarily fish for strippers but have on my heart catching a sheepshead or two! Tried once in the Topsail beach area but didn't know what I was doing and struck out.

Any favorite spots in NC? What size hook do you use and preferred bait? I read July was a favorite time of the year? Any other recommendations would be appreciated.

It tells about baits and techniques to use. I have attached a photo of a good friend holding two west coast sheepshead that are just about world record size as they rarely exceed 30 lbs I have to be honest and admit I actually speared these two but they should be able to get you excited about catching a few of this species. I love Stripers too but they are freshwater fare out west. I like spearguns!
If you have one you can go to the biggest supermarket of fish and seafood in the world and pick out the one you want. Its a lot easier than reel fishin'.
