Sounds good. Are you fishing land based?
G'day matey, ...yeah rock, beach,pier and kayak.....all covered,...just don't have a tinny. .......yet...lolzz
A 12 foot tinny is the go. You can pick them up pretty cheap this time of year.

Just check all the regs first !!! A lot of people sell tinnys very cheap in NSW because of the new rules (came in 2010).

I have a 12 footer with a 2.2hp Suzuki. It goes OK. The boat was $500. The motor I got brand new for $750. Then a few years ago I got a new trailer which was $1,600. But anything over 5hp has to be registered in NSW. So if you look around, you will find whole setups for under $500 just because the motor is over 5hp.

What state are you in?
Yeah oneday I'll  prob get the tinny,....when i can't kayak anymore..haha,....i'am  in Hervey Bay, Qld,.....great for yakkin and fishing....cheersImage
Nice looking kayak.

We have quite a few members here that do kayak fishing.

Yeah the are a blast,...its a Viking Tempo Fisherman, ...second hand for $350,...retail's for around $1000, so very happy with that. Just bought another one last week,..second hand also, at a fraction of new price. Yes i know what ya mean regarding tinnys,...5hp, etc,...will refresh my understanding of the rules when the time comes,...cause plenty for sale around the bay....have a good one
From memory, QLD has no rules up to 4hp. Even a life jacket is "optional".
I love kayak fishing as well. Had quite a few kayaks over time.
My all time favourite kayak was a "hobie outback".
It was awesome cause you pedaled with your feet rather then paddling.
Could cover so much more distance and had my hands free for fishing while on the move.
Downside is that they are really expensive. If I ever find one of them second hand for cheap I'll go for it again.

Last couple of months I've been getting into paddle board fishing.
That's quite fun as well, as long as you don't fall off 😊
