I see that the UAE has fishing permits. Which means there will be restrictions and rules. Might be best to check with them (where you get the permit from) first. There might be seasonal restrictions, size and bag limits.

I have not done a lot of crabbing. But what I have done has been in the summer. There is a small crab here in Australia which I call red crab (I suppose that is what others call it too) which I use as grouper bait...ABSOLUTE killer bait for grouper. I have noticed over the years that I see a lot more red crabs in the warmer summer months than I do in winter.

We have blue swimmer crabs here. A type of sand crab...sort of...We catch them mostly in the summer months. When I was young I targeted blue swimmer crabs, but now that I am getting old and grumpy, I target mud crabs. Again, I have found that the warmer summer months produce more mud crabs than the cooler winter months.
