Fishing in Auckland January 2011 | Category: Fishing Talk

Anybody been catching anything decent around Auckland these days?
Been out a few times in the channel of Tamaki Yacht club and around the bean rocks.

But just been getting small nibbles. Had one big snapper on it the other day after no bites for an hour or so. Unfortunately it got off the hook before I could land it. Could only get a glimpse of it and it looked like a nice 6-8 pounder. But thats was it - no more bites afterwards either.
Just a few small nibbles on my softbaits every now and then.

Lots of people fishing in the harbour at the moment, but looks like not many are catching anything.

Is it just me or is fishing just super slow at the moment?
Might have to travel a bit further to catch anything decent.

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.
