I have noticed all my best fishing times come on a low tide. And it is true for me. I do catch more fish on low tides all my life. How about you all? Is low tide best for you?

The incoming tide is the always the best .The fish are hungry and are looking for an easy meal just as the sun comes up on the incoming tide . The bait fish do not have any place to hide until the tide comes in and they can get into the cover around the edges of the tidal river . It is also a good time to net bait .

In MD. the tide rivers are always best on low water especially for Large mouth, and small mouth bass. These smallmouth were caught on a 3/8th Doll Fly Jig long ago on the Susquehanna River in Maryland.

My personal experience is that estuaries are best during up coming tide when fished at the mouth of the estuary and about 100-200meters up river during ebb tide. However, there are various other factors that effect the catch I. e time, wind factor, moon phase, bait, lure etc. All this can be achieved by test and trial and experience.

You say up coming tide. If the fishing for you is best on the low end of the tide, then you agree with me. I know for sure on tide river bass fishing, low tides are best. Thanks for your reply.

For me, it's low and moving tide. As long as the tide is moving. So it could be good when tide is moving getting low, or tide is moving starting up but still low. If you know what I mean. I am talking about fishing in rivers, not the ocean or the Gulf.

Two hours after rising tide when moon is waxing provided the two hours after rising tide is either at dawn or dusk. Two hours after tide starts to ebb during waning moon provided the two hours after tides starts to reseed falls either at dusk or dawn. Fish prefer different bates each time so carry squid, shrimp, sardines etc. And change the bait and rigs if the fish are not biting. However, nothing can beat live bait.
