I guess this is more for the Australian members here...but, hey join in no matter where you are.

I am a little bit put out with the latest BCF advertising. I am really not sure what to make of their "play on words". They have come up with...BCFing..and it looks like they intend to run with it for some time.

For those not in Australia, BCF is Boating Camping Fishing. It is a company owned by the Super Retail Group, along with Supercheap Auto, Rays Outdoors, Amart Sports, Avanti Fitness, Goldcross Cycles, Rebel and Workout World etc.

I am no prude. I am male and in my 50's. I know how to (and sometimes do) use some very choice words. In fact, I have been caught out using the F word in front of children once or twice (never intentionally). Always apologised

I know it slips out sometimes...But, really, to take your company name and deliberately play the F word off it ???

TV ads with young children jumping and yelling (or singing) "b c f ing fun" !! Really?

Or am I just getting old and losing the plot?

haven't seen the ad - so can't comment on that.

20 million blow flies cannot be wrong !!! So if everyone is mad and the world is insane. Then I would be the only sane person. Which of course, would mean that I would be not sane compared to everyone else, which would make me insane....

Oh, I just went to get a link and found that BCF now only have a BCFing stocktake sale. Funny, they had a BCFing everything before !!! Maybe some other people have also picked up on their "thought-less" advertising and complained?

Don't worry Mark, I watched some TV about 10 years ago...You have not lost the plot !!! THEY have !!!

Bcf would be last shop I'd go to for fishing

I don't shop there, I've used their free wi-fi when I've had to.
These days If I need a floatie I use a bit of wood or whatever's around, I won't buy bait unless I have too!.
Not poor, not rich, not tight and not mean but somehow It defeats the purpose of fishing for me. And having all the flash gear Is debatable weather you catch more fish or not. I'd put my made on the spot out of whatever floatie against any store brought one.
Mum used to just tie a bit of meat on a bit of string.
I'm not keen on advertising them but It may be payback for the free wi-fi I've used. (◢_◣)

Mark i fully agree with you i find it very offensive and embarrassing when watching a programe and this sort of thing comes when i am sitting with my wife or grandchildren.
i will not shop BCF no service and expensive.
I use the local store when purchasing bait etc and receive a smile and thanks please call again thats called service which BCF lack
