A friends kid caught this little fish off the coast in Italy.

Um...I know this fish...Just can't get a name on it...

If I am not wrong (and I probably am wrong) it burrows a hole. It uses the hole for catching food and breeding. It is small, but an ambusher. It will wait in it's hole for a prawn or such to come along....

My friend emailed me and asked what kind of fish this is. They didn't know what they caught there.
The kid is learning to fish and it's the second fish he's ever caught.

if so it belongs to the family of wrasses and is a common small mediterranean reef fish.
