Hey Guys, what if the lures are brushed with Cod Liver Oil available from the pharmacies, would it work?

probably not sticky enough. Maybe you could mix it with some wax to make it nice and sticky so the scent sticks to the lures a little longer. It should work and give the lures a bit of extra oomph. Like scented softbaits.

It would not do any harm.

In fact it would help to keep the hooks etc from rusting. Remember even stainless steel will rust. It is stainLESS not stainPROOF.

In our part of the world, scented baits are not readily available...Therefore the mind always wanders for innovations...Under absolute lockdown watching fishing videos on Youtube. The pandemic of Coronavirus has engulfed the globe, keep indoors and keep safe guys...

actually its a highly used thing here in Pacific North West. krill and cod liver oil dipped lures are talked about by the old timers who use nothing else for salmon and steelhead. just put it in a mason jar and tie on a small amount of yarn on the hook to hold scent even longer between cast and now you can dip in the jar without having to try to pour a little on here and there much easier. and fishing is actually fine here just maintain 6 ft distance gl tight lines
