Dream Kayaks Siren 10.5 - an affordable pedal kayak (review)

Hi guys,

I finally managed to finish up the review of my dream kayaks siren 10.5 pedal kayak.
I bought this kayak about 6 months ago and used it heavily multiple times per week since then.
I'm not affiliated with Dream Kayaks in any way, so this is an honest review and just reflects my experience with this kayak.
This is my second pedal kayak. A few years ago I had a second hand Hobie outback kayak. Then I had a normal paddle kayak for a while - but once you experience hands free fishing from a kayak, it's hard to go back to normal paddle kayaks.
So I sold the paddle kayak and got myself this pedal drive siren 10.5 kayak. As opposed to the Hobie kayaks it doesn't have flippers underneath but a propeller instead. This allows for instant reversing, which is a big advantage over Hobie kayaks.
It also only costs a fraction of the price of a Hobie kayak.
Anyway - hope you enjoy my review.

Looks good. Very interesting.

Have you seen the movie JAWS ??? Get your feet out of the water !!! 😊

Hey

Do you know where I can get a LOWER TRANSMISSION REBUILD KIT in Australia?

That is a good question.

I just had a look at their web site...Yes they have an Aus web site. But frankly it looks like it hasn't been updated for some time !! They do include a mobile number.

Have you taken the gear box apart?

A lot of the time small manufactures will use "over the counter" generic parts. It's a lot cheaper than designing their own parts.

You might be able to match all the parts with over the counter generics. They probably use a gear box from a small electric outboard. Most boat shops (with a mechanic section) should be able to match all the parts.
