Welcome to Fishing Reminder, Andrew

I discovered this site about 10 years ago...maybe more than 10 years ago...I know it was not long after it's birth haha. In fact, it was not Fishing Reminder when it was born !!

So I tested it for about 3 days and gave up on the testing and declared to my self "yeah this is a bit of alright it works". Now, 10 years later, or maybe more than 10 years, they just can't get rid of me !!....Although, I do understand that the owner of the site sometimes thinks I should be "tested" haha.

Speaking of testing...What is going on up there in Canada with all this covid stuff? We don't hear much on the news about Canada here in Australia.

The fishing is great in northern Alberta, a bit cold right now the temp is staying around -22c, we keep a heater going in the fishing shack and keep a little Canadian rye at our side to ward off the chill. We are catching lake trout on Cold Lake and walleye, northern pike and perch on smaller lakes like Marie and Ethel lake. The ice is over 30cm deep on Cold Lake and up to a 90cm. on the smaller lakes. we are catching trout on big silver spoons on Cold Lake in 18metres to 28metres of water and the walleye and pike in about 3metres of water. P.S. covid is alive and well up here we are keeping our distance and hoping for the best, cheers and keep on fishing

Hey Stuffit,

Luv the name !!

The coldest I have ever been through is minus 12C. Minus 22 would be interesting...I keep a little tipple on hand just in case a cloud comes over or the sun comes out !!

Is that meant to be 900cm ?? or just a typo. I can change it for you if you want.

Sounds like some pretty good fishing going on there.

The covid thing is not as bad here. But we are still under restrictions. Keep distance etc. But then again Australia and New Zealand hit the problem head on, hard and fast. So we are fairing pretty good compared the the rest of the world. Victoria took a beating and we sadly lost quite a lot of lives there. But again we hammered down pretty hard and got the beast under control.

You are sitting at around minus 22C and you have a lake called Cold Lake ??...Methinking, at those temps, even if you do have a lake called Hot Lake I still aint gunna swim in it !!
