A friend asked if I know any spots around Wangaratta.

This is the spot I mentioned. Frank Garth Reserve Beach. Not sure if you would get the truck in there. But it is literally 3 minute walk from Apex car park.

It is the Ovens River and feeds in off the Murray. Great fishing spot and is even featured on some Youtube vids.

You see the Bickerton St bridge? It is a foot bridge. But there is plenty of parking and only 50 or 60 meters to the river. All along from the bridge to Frank Garth is great spots.

Just a little further north is Sydney Beach. But I have never been in there so can't say. But looks good.

You mean Bundalong? I worked at Bundalong for a few months 25 years ago. If it were me, I would not be going all the way to Bundalong if I had the Ovens at my feet. Mind you Bundalong is on Lake Mulwala and is also great fishing.
