clean the cobwebs trip - reef fishing in close South Coast NSW | Category: Fishing Reports

Hi all
First time out for 1 year off Ulladulla, South Coast NSW.
Highest rainfall for March for 50 years.
Good indicators from tides4fishing site this week.
green toads making fishing difficult.
Small snapper around but hard to find due to toads.
Winds strong 15 - 30 knots regularly - few days below 10 knots(equals 19 klm/hr).
10 knots is when whitecaps appear & depending on swell conditions could mean fishing ends soon.
Will try again Tues midday & Wed early to beat the winds.
South might be the go.

good luck everyone.
Cookie.

Hi Cookie,

Thanks for the post. I am sure the weather will clear soon.

I have done a lot of ballooning and live baiting off Tabourie island, Have you ever tried there ?

Years ago with others that knew how.
I concentrate on boat outside.
Prefer afternoon/evening with right conditions.
Have been out over last few weeks - using best fishing reminder site. eg major & minor bite times.
17 snapper to 2 kg 1 week ago
21 snapper to 2.5kg 2 days ago
afternoon, 15m, anchor, burley
great results considering I have not fished much this last year.

That sounds like some good results.

Good to hear that you are using the major and minor bite times. They work for me too !!

Years ago, hey? I learnt how to balloon off Tabourie. Must be close to 30 years ago. Maybe I was one of those people that you think knew how I did not know how to, it was all a big learning curve for me

Last time I fished Tabourie would be 1994 or 1995....I am getting old.

Hi mate, you are making me drool. I had a camp at Bermagui for about a year and never once got out in the boat. Well done mate. Living up in Qland now.
