Hey y'all. I'm Janis, 52, Upstate South Carolina. Lake Keowee and Jocassee. (I'm actually from Georgia but live in S Carolina). I bought a kayak 2 weeks ago and been fishing a lot, targeting catfish. Still a little bumpy, went form a 20' pontoon to a 12' kayak but it's really cool. I've never caught a fish in this lake, I have in the river but I don't want to paddle against the river current. I've watched HOURS of fishing tips and read many articles about catfishing but no luck. When I don't catch anything, it's ok because it only makes me more determined. I go out about 3 times a week. A bit frustrated but not discouraged!!! Any kayakers in upstate SC?

Mark (Admin) is a kayak fisherman from New Zealand. I don't know if that is of any help but I would imagine the techniques would be similar.

Have not heard from Mark for a couple of days...I think he must be out fishing
