Hi everyone, Richard from Yorkshire England, living and fishing in the beautiful waters of New Zealand. I have never been into fishing much having lost lots of time and tackle on rocks around the place , but that all changed when I had a go at kayak fishing while camping. Now as they say, I am the one thats hooked.

Easy to get hooked to kayak fishing, isn't it?

Do you fish around the west coast?
I only went one time to kayak fish in the manukau harbour near Cornwallis.
But didn't realize how strong the current is and almost got dragged out to sea.

I usually fish around Aucklands East Coast and there's not much current to deal with.

Although I would like to give the west coast another try. Especially in winter to target some Gurnard in the Manukau.
