Question about best bite times.

is somewhere on Fishing reminder that shows you best times to catch certain types of fish like on Fishingbrain? I was trying to get a second app for comparisons from one area to the next. something free. I'm already paying for 1 app.

The short answer is no.

The scope of variables is way to complex. Even Fishbrain can't do it. There is nothing wrong with their app and they look really good. But all they can tell you is a certain species of fish is known to be in a certain area, sometimes.

Even if it could be done. Your own variables come into play. The fish might actually be there, but you are casting 10 meters to the side of them. Also the fish variables. They might have been there right at the spot 10 minutes ago but a shark or other predator scared them and they are now 50 meters away. etc, etc.

Then the variables of the gear you are using. Today you might be catching fish on a red and yellow lure. Tomorrow they might only be taking green and black lures.

It is impossible to say if you fish on this exact day, at this exact time, in this exact spot, you will catch this exact species of fish.

Check with the bait shops ahead of your fishing trip. They'll be most familiar with what's biting on what, where and when. In Tomahawk, WI there's Chuck's Baitshop and Aquatic Arts. We also have a local FM Radio station, WJJQ, that announces when the majors and minors are. Lastly, the local paper available online, Tomahawk Leader, lists the week's majors and minors plus, has a report of where fish can be found and what they're biting on. Hope this helps!
