Good evening all. New to the site, almost new to fishing, haven't been since I was 12 and I am now 29. I'm unfortunately not able to fish from a boat so I'm stuck shore fishing. Not having much luck lately, probably just wrong times and the heat making the bass go to deeper water. Anywho, just making a splash on the site. Will be using it more, tired of fishing with only a bite or two in a 4 hour trip. If anyone lives in northern Va and needs a fishing buddy, I'll be around!

I'm sure after a little bit practice you'll be pulling them out by the dozens

if it's really hot at the moment, try to pick the days where the best fishing times are early morning.
The fish might come in a bit closer to shore then.

I wish it was too hot to fish here...about -10 (c) this morning....brrrrr

@itsaboat- thank you... and -10c is a little chilly lol I'm not looking forward to winter but I expect myself to be out fishing in all seasons this year. Being my first year back to fishing I want to gauge how the fish feed and what they like. Class is in session this year, next year I expect to be posting monsters like some I've seen on this site!

Yeah...a little on the bitey side...Last time I was in this area it got down to -6 for 3 days in a row!!! and that got the locals talking...

Official temp for Canberra today was -10.8 which is just over the hill from here (about 100km). The forecast for here today was -8, but I reckon it got down to -12 maybe -14....Not bad for an area that normally makes head line news if it hits -4 !!!

I am not a fair weather fisherman either...But when the ice sheet over the creek is thick enough for the kelpie dog to walk on, I have second thoughts !!

It is global cooling !!! Government is to blame...I don't care which one, just pick one. Any Government will do. Just pick one...It is global cooling on a global scale....no wonder the aliens don't want to come here !!!
