Fishing has been pretty good past few weeks on *** days. bream and good size flathead (60cm +) but past 2 days nothing happening. One legal sized bream but released as didn’t even look fat enough. Water temp dropped to 14-15 deg so maybe time to put boat away for a while. Hope those in warmer waters still enjoying their fishing. cheers albatross.

Thanks for the info.

Maybe some winter bream will come on soon.

I am about to do my 3rd winter out past Wagga...gets very cold . But I am still going to try a few spots along the Bidgee and maybe try the Murray around Howlong.

Have you tried around the inlet? I don't know but maybe the water is a little warmer there.

Visiting SGI for the 1st and looking for info on best time of day to fish from shore?

I just had a look for the fishing times here on fishingreminder
Looks like the best time on the 1st for shore based fishing in the basin would be from around sunrise until about 10 am.
Or if you're inclined for some night fishing, which is always a good idea when fishing from the shore, try the second minor time starting around 6pm.

Just make sure to check the weather forecast.
I had a complaint from someone recently. He got the fishingreminder email and decided to drive a long distance to some remote fishing spot without checking the weather, just to arrive at the beach in un-fishable stormy nasty conditions.
Afterwards he reckoned that our site sucks big time, LOL.

So a reminder to everyone - the fishing times are based on the solunar theory and don't include the weather forecast.
It's up to everyone else to check the local weather and compare it with the bite times to make a decision as when to head out.
We have a local 7 day weather forecast on the front page, including wind and rain conditions.

Hi Mark Funny how people blame others for their own errors in judgment. Poor you coping it when you’re trying to provide great info so everyone can enjoy their fishing to the max. Never mind you can’t please all of the people all of the time. Very cold & grey here today at St George’s Basin 14 deg with icy wind. No boats out at all. Inside with a coffee I think. Cheers albatross.

It is scary to think a person like that is actually allowed to drive a car

Truth be known he probably just forgot to take his fishing rod and has to blame someone for his stupidity

The good fishing times are only one aspect of our complicated hobby. Weather, local conditions, choice of lures or bait, fish movement. Even in really good times we may be casting to where there are no fish! If fishing was easy everybody would do it.The price of fish shows how much time, effort and expense goes into getting a feed on the table. Most of us don't go for the fish but for the total fishing experience. Even no fish can still be a good day.

Well said shawry, I might have to quote you the next time I get blamed by someone for not catching a fish on a good day

Well said Shawry,

Could not have said it better myself...although I would have got a bath tub in there

Some days it just feels like you are casting into a bathtub but you never go home early. I never catch anything on my last cast.

I had to think pretty hard about this. I can think of 2 times I landed a fish on the last cast. Once it was my last bait and the other time it was my only bait. Not bad going for 50 years of fishing

Mark just doesn't like the idea of a bath tub...He is a Kiwi, ya know !! Pretty sure they don't even have soap over there

yeah love fishing in a bathtub. Haven't caught much though - aside from some rubber ducks, only during the major times of course.
Might not have soap, but at least we got enough water to actually fill a bathtub
But pssst, don't tell anyone - I'm actually not a Kiwi, LOL.

haha

Only mad Englishmen and Germans have rubber ducks...The rest of us have the good quality Made in China plastic ducks and there are no mad Englishmen in NZ
