Hey 79 we`ve been on fire since end of Aug mate & the heat is really sucky,47 down to 36 every day on my part of mid nth coast of nsw, is even Chile copping our smoke haze now.Yeh we are getting rain hope more than 2ml!!!

We have had a few days of cooler weather. A little respite...But tomorrow the real fun starts again. Forecast is 43 for Wagga Wagga with strong wind.

Don't get me wrong. The situation is very dangerous...As I type this some people on Kangaroo Island have just been given 5 minutes to get out. Army troops are there desperately trying to get people out. In fact, by the time I finish typing this it will be to late for anyone that didn't get out.

With the cooler conditions things have been stable for a few days. As I say, don't get me wrong, stable does not mean "safe".

Thank you for sending help. Although not reported in the news (a few little reports is all) New Zealand has been very quick to send help. Thank you.

These few cooler days have given a chance to re-group and get ready for tomorrow. Some good news and the only good news, the heat wave expected tomorrow will only last 24 hours...

NEWS BREAK...It seems that the heat wave has already hit Victoria. Just the front of it so far...So just a few hours and I should start to feel it.

Unofficial news is somewhere between 40% and 87% of these fires were deliberately lit...arson !! Official news says it is closer to the 40%. Just in NSW at least 24 people have been arrested....But it is best to just deal with situation first. Then we will start talking politics.

But word on the street says the death toll is bigger. 24 confirmed dead....But I am getting news that 37 are dead. Please, this is NOT CONFIRMED.

Also, I am not one to use song for remorse and sorrow and thought....But again, I use the word "but"....May this song express my thoughts and love to those that have given the ultimate sacrifice to protect us.

Hit 93.1 is also the local emergency station. You can listen online. Of course other areas will have their own stations.

If any donation organisation wants specific things, like dog food or towels or whatever, they will ask for it !!!...Otherwise the best thing to give is CASH. Hit 93.1 has a donation button on their web site if you want to help.

REMEMBER there is no such thing as raffles, phone calls, emails, door knocking etc etc...If anyone directly asks you to donate it is a SCAM !!!
