For this site, are the best fishing times based on moon phases? Has anyone found these quoted times any better than others?

Im just starting to get into the "scientific side" of fishing and learning a whole new fishing area at once. Just moved to Louisiana and I'm trying to catch some big bass in the bayous. So far I haven't done too well!
