[THIS IS A RE-POST, SORRY]

I'm new to the fishing game but my Dad has been fishing for a LONG time. I mostly fish for snapper blues around the Nissequogue River. I just got 2 spinners in the mail today. And I heard they're good for snapper's. Any extra advice is most appreciated...

...Mostly on what kinda lures I should be using and the times I should go fishing. Ex: Daytime, Night, 8:00pm, New Moon, ect. Oh and also how do I properly unhook a fish? 'Cause I have watched a couple of YouTube video's and they seem difficult or painful for the fish. (I don't plan on keeping the fish, I'm fishing for fun not for food )

Thanks in advance!!

There he stands, draped in more equipment than a telephone lineman, trying to outwit an organism with a brain no bigger than a breadcrumb, and getting licked in the process.

You can use needle nose pliers for getting the hook out, I know sometimes it's way down their throats so, some guys just cut the line and leave the hook in there, don't know how good that is, but I guess is better than you killing it trying to get the hook out. I used to think that full moon was the best times to go fishing, but is not completely true so I try to go whenever I get time and find out the old fashion way.
