Time to winterize my boat and cover it for the winter. That means fishing is pretty much over for the year (I may still hit a nearby river for salmon while they're still running).

The reason it's bittersweet is that while fishing is pretty well done for me for the year, goose season, followed by deer season (guns) is right around the corner (bow season is already open, but I don't bow hunt).

Hunting of one sort or another will carry me through January, then, weather permitting, ice fishing may be a possibility, while also tying up some new bucktail jigs for next season. Ice fishing is tough close to home. We get plenty cold enough, but get so much snow that the ice is unreliable underneath it.

Hope to have some fishing reports come spring time!

looks like your are very busy all year round
Good lifestyle.

I don't hunt but where I live, the fishing season is all year round.
We have a bit of a high and low season. But I actually find that I catch more and bigger fish during the low season.

Bow hunting sounds quite fun. Maybe you should get into that.
Gives the hunting experience a more ancient and natural feeling, I suppose.
If I had hunting ground close by, I would probably give bow hunting a go.

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.
