Hello Mark,
Fishing in Alaska was a real thrill. I owned a 44ft doublender for long lining. It was built in 1929 solid as a rock. It was named the North Star. We mostly fish for halibut, cod, snapper etc. The hydraulic drum would hold 5 skates each one was 1800ft long with a gangion and hook every 11ft. We would set the lines in about 150 to 500ft deep water and come back every 4hrs to check them. It always was a thrill to see what was coming from that deep. Now I fish about 4 days a week here on the river. What kind of fishing do you do?
