Check out this bad boy...

It holds up to 70 yards of 4 Lbs mono... Or if you like 80 m of .15mm (that is point 15).

As far as I know, it is a size 10 or 1000, depending on where you come from.

It is a Pen (with one N) and claims to be the Worlds smallest thread line reel.

I won it by placing the highest bid on eBay. It has never been used...and I just gotta do it I will post a pic of the first fish I catch on this bad boy...

Those pics make it look bigger than it really is...

So here is a better one. It is just the length of the palm of my hand, if you include the drag knob.

Here is the Bad Boy going head to head with a 2000 Rovex. (size 20)

As you can see, the handle on the Rovex is about the same size as the spool on this little Pen.

that looks pretty good.
What are you planning to catch with it?
Looks like a nice reel for softbaiting for snapper.

Ha ha...Just the bait for a snapper would be twice the size of this reel

I was thinking of chasing some bream with it.

Here it is along side what many people would consider a first choice, standard, dedicated snapper reel, the Shimano 6500 baitrunner.

haha - didn't realise how small it was

That's pretty cool though.
I always use a shimano 4500 softbaiting for snapper in shallow water.
And always think I could go a number smaller.

But perhaps that would be too small

Yeah, next one down is the 3500 in the baitrunner range. Worth a go but since you have a 4500 wait for a 3500 to come up on gumtree or garage sale.

I have had a 4500 for years. But this 6500 I got for $50 at a garage sale complete with a 12 foot rod.

Oh yeah, this Pen is tiny. It holds up to 70 yards of 4 pound mono !!

With my luck I'd hook a once-in-a-lifetime flathead or mulloway and get spooled

No idea mate...might be a gremlin in the works . I can delete your mistaken post if you like, but it is not doing any harm

You gotta agree thou...that is a pretty mean looking Bad Boy...It holds up to 70 yards of 4 pound mono !!!

I haven't used it yet...But...hahaha...some one has let lose some gold fish in the local creek !! I spotted them a few days ago, they are maybe 6 to 8 inches. Not an easy spot to get to, but I am thinking up a plan. There is about 5 or 6 gold ones and with my spotters on I see about 100 to 150 off spring of about 4 inches. The young ones are very dark and blend in which makes them very hard to see...

A challenge fit for none other than the Bad Boy

Badder boys are Penn Btl-7000 & 8000. Can't beat the performance & capacity for the price.
