I am fine, thanks for asking. Am presently in Sydney, and am having a lot of difficulty finding a good place for catching good sized fishes. Caught a lot of silver bream and red snappers, unfortunately did not meet the legal size and they had to be returned to the deep blue.

If any one around the West Ryde area is interested in taking along a companion, I am ready any day of the week. However I am only here for about a month.

Thanks and tight lines.

Liz

P.S. Have attached a picture of some of the fishes I caught here.

Hi Liz

I hope you are having a good time visiting our great country.

If I was closer to Sydney I could show you a few good spots...but I am about an hour out side Wagga Wagga for the next month.

Those fish in your pic are what we call weed eaters. A common catch along weedy rocks and jetties.

There are plenty of good fishing spots in and around Sydney. West Ryde is a good day trip to any good fishing...If you can make it, a trip to Bundeena is worth it. You can get a ferry across from Cronulla. Also north head is worth a try if you can get transport. You can get a ferry across to Manly and then it is walking distance to plenty of good fishing spots.

Port Jackson (Sydney Harbour) is also worth a try...But stay east of the bridge. You can get snapper around the opera house sometimes. Bonito, yellow fin, and other small tuna can be had further east.

With Easter coming there might be a few people around. But pretty much any of the eastern, coastal suburbs have great fishing...Try Bondi...If you don't catch anything, you can at least claim bragging rights that you fished Bondi Beach !

Thank you for the prompt response. And oh yes, I am really enjoying myself here - folks here are so warm and polite.... but my new friends are mostly ladies and not into fishing like me. Also I dont drive, hence the difficulty in reaching those far away spots. BUT .... where there is a will (or wheels) there is a way, shall find some one to take me along.

Thank you again.

Hi Liz,

I guess by now you have left Australia...Or at least left Sydney.

Did you end up finding a fishing buddy? How did you go, any good catches? Where are you fishing now?

Cheers
Neil

Hi Neil,

Thanks for your response, though a bit late.

Am now in India, Goa to be more precise and trying out different fishing spots here, most of them are littered with rags, ropes, clothes, hangers and you name it, hence I have been losing a lot of good quality hooks, which in turn entails wasting a lot of time attaching new ones

Looks like you are doing alright when you do manage to get a hook in the water...Nice catch!
