Sir David Prompts Bans
What to make of this ??
Some other news media are calling Sir David's new doco "fishing propaganda".
I have not seen it. But from what I can make out of it. He filmed various places around the world. But not in Australia. They say that no Australian authorities were aware of any filming taking place.
But then, Sir David claims or rather implies, that the film shows locations in Australia.
I have witnessed first hand how fishing inspectors operate. They are like Ninja SAS. You really would not know that one was standing next to you. They literally go fishing and surfing all day. They operate deep...deep under cover.
The penalties are HUGE. There is jail and massive fines of course. But, they will confiscate all your equipment. Boats, building, nets, everything. You don't just get jail and fines. You lose everything !!
A commercial fishing boat doing the wrong thing is unheard of. The risk is to high.
But here we have Sir David claiming...or implying...that he just turned up one day with a whole film crew. Cameras, tri-pods, the whole works and started filming all this illegal activity... I find that impossible to believe !!
