Looking for fishing spots near Toronto, Canada | Category: Help

Hello all,
I have recently picked up fishing and it's quickly become one of my favourite hobbies. I have made 4 fishing trips so far and my greatest record was 1.3 pound smallmouth bass. However, I scored a big fat zero a few days ago at Rice Lake, Ontario. It was my first time going there thus I am guessing my friends and I didnt really know the hot spots for shore fishing.
I am just wondering if there are people from Canada and if they can give me some good advise and good location choices.
I live in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) and I am looking for spots that are under 1.5 hours of driving.

Cheers,
Tony

Try Lake Belwood, north west of TO. The mouth of the Credit River, 16 Mile Creek in Oakville, Bronte Creek in Oakville, depends on what you want to fish for.

Thanks for the info!
I need a bit more details tho.
For Bronte creek in oakvile , it is a provincial park isnt it? (http://maps.google.ca/maps?q=bronte+creek+provincial+park&hl=en&ll=43.405733,-79.754133&spn=0.027936,0.077162&t=h&z=14)
Do I just park my car inside the park (parking lot?) then WALKS into the woods to reach the river and fish? What kind of fish are presence there? Are they edible? Is the water polluted??

For Lake Belwood, the satellite image shows that it's actually of a fair size. Are there any particular spots for shore fishing? it looks like it's surrounded by cottages... so most of the coastline is prohibited from the public? Which particular spots do you recommend/which street ? (http://maps.google.ca/maps?q=lake+belwood&hl=en&ll=43.745429,-80.335336&spn=0.014664,0.038581&sll=43.470363,-79.822884&sspn=0.111624,0.308647&t=h&z=15)

For Credit River, where is its mouth? Do i just simply enter Erindale Park , as shown by google map , and fish? (http://maps.google.ca/maps?q=credit+river,+ontario&hl=en&ll=43.545811,-79.657102&spn=0.013936,0.038581&sll=44.348404,-78.048248&sspn=0.464503,1.234589&t=h&z=15) Are the fish edible since Mississauga is quite industrialized?

For the locations that you recommended, are they good for bass fishing? I am just a beginner thus I only have been live worms on small hooks and a few minnow crankbait. What can I catch?

I have been to a decent spot for shore fishing at Young's Point. I heard it's a great spot for fishing in August. (http://maps.google.ca/maps?q=Young%27s+Point,+Ontario&hl=en&ll=44.483341,-78.239651&spn=0.028965,0.077162&sll=43.542514,-79.652596&sspn=0.027873,0.077162&t=h&z=14)

The attachment is a picture of the actual place. It is actually a dam . you can fish on a bridge or a platform there.
