So the fishing times calculator Pseudo Science or no... Results: Prediction was a "Average" day 1. evening feeding activity was moderate. Tally 2-SMB -BG all in the last 45 minutes of the posted window.
Today "Excellent:... will be back with a report.
Skunked??? Wind affected my ability to cast into my "honey hole"...perhaps tomorrow the winds will be favorable.

Hi there,

whereabouts are you fishing? Salt or Freshwater?
Sounds like you're fishing from the shore if you're affected by wind.

good luck for tomorrow. Hope the weather will be on your side.

Fresh Water 20 acre Pond from Shore...Fish calc is more for Salt?

The times are based on observation of sun, moon and tides akin to the Maori fishing charts.

So yes, remove the tides and the times will change.

It is not so much a science (pseudo or otherwise) but rather a theory based on thousands of years of observation.

I've found that there are plain few hard-and-fast rules for fishing predictions. Sometimes the predictor hits the bulls-eye, sometimes it goes off on a tangent. As my great-grand-pappy used to say, "Some days you eat the bear; some days the bear eats you; some days you both go hungry." Your best informants are (1) your knowledge of your lake or river, and (2) a fishing journal, in which you record the conditions, tackle, and results.

And have fun.

That sounds just like a solunar clock...Just the journal has been made by thousands of people over hundreds of years

Watching moon, sun and tides and comparing that to catches and feeding.

"conditions" "tackle" and "results" is very much like Sun, Moon, Tides and results

I doubt any of those people ever set foot in Winchester, Virginia, much less chronicled the fishing at my favorite lake. That's why every fisherman and fisherwoman should keep a journal of their favorite locations.

you can actually keep a fishing diary here on the site.
There is a link under My Account -> Fishing Diary.

You just need to take a picture of your catch with a mobile phone and then upload it to the fishing diary.
Most info, including the solunar times of the catch time are added automatically.

cheers and happy fishing
